Zapier Integration Guide

Zapier is a free application that allows you to connect and send data between thousands of different applications.

Automated connections called Zaps, set up in minutes with no coding, can automate your day-to-day tasks and build workflows between apps that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.

Each Zap has one app as the trigger, which acts as an information source and causes one or more actions in other apps, where your data gets sent automatically.

You can now use your CRM as a trigger for any Zap to send new leads to VoiceSpin AI Dialer services and send SMS through VoiceSpin.

You can send call logs into your CRM or other application.

Requirements

The following conditions must be met for the VoiceSpin PBX and Zapier integration:

  • You need to create and set up an account at VoiceSpin PBX (www.voicespin.com).
  • You need your CustomerID and API token, you can find them at the VoiceSpin Portal (portal.voicespin.com).

Integration steps

  1. Sign in into your Zapier account.
If you do not have a Zapier account, go to https://zapier.com/ and register one.
  1. Configure your first Zap with VoiceSpin.
There are 2 types of Zaps – Triggers and Actions.
  • Triggers are events that start your Zap.
  • Action is an event a Zap performs after it starts.

To configure the first event (this is only an example) – “Send SMS” for sending SMS messages via the VoiceSpin account, we will use Google Sheets on screenshots as a source (Trigger). Instead of Google Sheets, you may use another trigger, your CRM system, for example.

In the Trigger section

Step 1. Create a new Zap

Go to the Zaps section -> press Create -> New Zap

Step 2. Choose some Trigger

In the current tab, you need to choose some Trigger, for example, your CRM system. We will use Google Sheets Doc for the test.

Before continuing, you need to configure your Trigger. Parameters are different per each Trigger.

Step 3. Select VoiceSpin actions

In the Actions section, choose the VoiceSpin app for integration.

Step 4. Choose an Event

From the Event dropdown, you need to choose an event, in our case it is “Send SMS Message”.

Step 5. Add your VoiceSpin account

Connect your VoiceSpin account in this step, by pressing “Connect a new account” (or selecting the previously registered one from the list).

Step 6. Authentication

Fill in the required fields. CustomerID and API Token are available from your VoiceSpin portal (portal.voicespin.com).

Step 7. Map fields

Zapier integration guide: Map fields

This step requires you to map source data (Trigger section) to the required fields (Action section).

In our case, we mapped the columns from Google sheets to the required fields in the Action section.

  1. Map DST num (Google sheets) to Destination phone number field
  2. Map Src (Google sheets) to Sender field
  3. Map Message (Google sheets) to Message field

Step 8. Test your action and publish it
